A general POA grants broad authority across a range of matters, while a special POA is limited to a defined act such as selling a specific property, managing a specific company or representing you in one case. Many UAE banks and government departments will only accept a special POA that names the exact transaction, so broader is not always better.
Yes. The document is signed before a notary in your country of residence, then legalised through that country's foreign ministry and the UAE embassy, and finally attested by the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs on arrival. We prepare the wording so it survives that chain.
Validity depends on the wording and the accepting authority. Many institutions treat a POA as current only if it is recently notarised, commonly within the last one to two years, and will ask for a fresh instrument beyond that. A POA also terminates on revocation or on the death of the grantor.
